SELF ESTEEM?? KEEP IT HIGH!!

Self-esteem is something many people struggle with daily. They judge themselves from what they see others doing or what they think other people are. Self-esteem is always a struggle for those who believe in God. The one question most people struggle with in their walk with God is: How do I know that I am doing enough for God? These questions come from a society that bases most of it’s accolades from perfectionism standard instead of God’s grace. We love to live with the victim mentality. To receive something means taking, accepting, admitting, embracing, believing, or entertaining. Receiving grace from God doesn’t fit in the mind of a perfectionist. They believe they can never do enough in return to feel good about themselves for what they have received. The result is usually a feeling of low self esteem, so they strive to do more and more to measure up. God wants you to know today that you can feel good about yourself because what He gave to us, He gave out of Love and Mercy. (John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.) If you have a low image of yourself this morning, or if you feel that you are not good enough to belong to God? Lift your head, take a deep breath, look around you, we are all in the same boat. We can’t do enough, nor does God require us to do anything to receive God’s wonderful gift of salvation and forgiveness. Learn to love yourself, learn to accept that you are a creation of God, made just like He planned you. You are the apple of God’s eye and He watches you day after day. There are no big “I’s” or little “You’s” in God’s children. God loves all of us and He sent his Son to establish that relationship. I pray this makes everyone feel good about who and what you are to God this morning. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
