God Has Made Us All Influencers
God doesn’t have anyone else to be a difference maker but you and I. God has made us all influencers.
It seems today it is easy to get a crowd to gather or to get a group of people to stand up and speak out for any multitude of issues. Unfortunately it is difficult to get people to stand up or speak out for God. We are all influenced by someone. And God has made us all influencers.
The Bible has a lot to say about what it takes to become an influence or a difference maker. Difference makers choose who they will allow to influence them.
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
The ultimate purpose of out life is to be an influence. God said He will make us rich in every way. He promised to make us rich in our gifting with the purpose of being a difference maker. We have to recognize our influence before we can exercise our influence. We need to recognize the opportunities of influence God places before us.
2 Corinthians 9:11
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
Galatians 6:4
But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
There are 3 areas where we need to be difference makers:
My People
Our people is our sphere of influence. People we spend the bulk of our days with. The Greek word for household is boycott. It means your area of influence.
Mark 5:19
However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.”
My Place
Each one of us live in different places within society where we have opportunity of influence. Church, sports/activities, business, social media, family.
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
My Passion
God has put in your heart an area that you are passionate about. Your passion causes you to see things differently than other people see them. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow.
Ephesians 4:1
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
Becoming a difference maker for God is one of the most rewarding things you can ever experience.
