How many times in a day do you say or hear the words, “I wish they would hurry up.” How often do we use others being slow as an excuse for us not getting something done? How often have you decided not to go to a certain place because you knew you would have to wait to get in? We live in a microwave world. We want everything at our finger tips and if we have to wait, then we will just go somewhere else. God teaches us to be patient and refuse to give up if things don’t happen when you want them to. (Galatians 6:9 Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.) The proper time for things to happen is God’s time, not ours. We are usually in a hurry, but God never is. We are often impatient and ready for everything to happen right now, but God, in His wisdom, prepares us first for what He wants to do in our lives, and preparation takes time. A good builder makes certain the foundation is solid before beginning to construct a building. God wants our foundation to be able to hold up the wonderful life He has planned for each of us. God’s timing seems to be His own little secret. The Bible promises that He will never be late, but I have also discovered that He is usually not early. The good thing to know is that He is always right on time, and His timing is perfect. Be patient. Don’t give up. Pastor Don
