Kingdom of Priests

Kingdom of Priests

Jesus was made to be sin for us. He took our place at Calvary’s cross. He became the justice for our sins. The veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom allowing us to come boldly to the throne and abide in Him and with Him as a kingdom of priests.

Fear of His Presence

Moses went to the mount and met with God for the children of Israel. They feared Him. They felt they could not be in His presence. On the mount, God gave Moses instructions for living. Instructions for living so others knew you served God. Instructions for being God’s people.

Kings and Priests

Revelation 5:9-10

9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, 10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”

Kings have authority. Priests go to God for people. We have been chosen as a royal priesthood. We have authority in the name of Jesus. Called to go to people for God. We are citizens of the redeemed nation of God. The holy nation of God shall be raised and be eternally with Him. God’s greatest treasure is in His people.

Exodus 19:5-6

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;
and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”

Like the children of Israel, we have experienced a transformation. We have a testimony of how God has given us the authority to carry His promise of an unspeakable joy as kings and priests in a royal family.

Romans 5:8

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Titus 3:3

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

1 Thessalonians 1:5-10

5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.
And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit,
so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.
For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,
10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
