In my profession in life I have the opportunity to visit many people with long term battles with health issues. I have found that one of the hardest daily battles for them is to overcome being depressed. It is hard to press on when each day seems to be the same or even harder to endure. I am amazed at those who are able to face these situations with faith, perseverance, and still maintain a great attitude. It is difficult to keep a good attitude about our jobs, relationships, even our churches when nothing seems to be happening to excite us. My Bible reading this morning stressed the importance of our choices in those difficult times. (2 Timothy 1:6-7 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.) It is so easy to get that give up, run away, don’t care, it’s never going to change attitude in facing tough times in life. It is the attitude that Satan wants you to have. You begin to want to put blame somewhere for the way you feel. It is so important for us to choose to keep going, to persevere through hard times, to continue to put our faith in the One who is already giving us strength to make it through. You have to remember, God will never allow you to face something that He hasn’t already given you the ability to overcome. Make your choice today. I AM GOING TO KEEP GOING!! I am going to face this day with the assurance that I am not alone, God is walking by my side. Pastor Don
