Have you ever had someone ask you if you were having a bad day? They ask because you don’t look or act like they are accustomed to seeing you. There are so many things that can change your appearance and action any given day, but none so quickly as your own words. I am reminded this morning of how often I have started a day with negative expectations and words of uncertainty and have people asked me if I was having a bad day. The Bible tells us that life and death lies in our tongues. We can speak life into our day by being thankful and positive, or we can kill our day before it starts by being negative and ungrateful. My Bible reading this morning says we are trapped by our words, or we are set free by our words. (Proverbs 12:13-14 The wicked are trapped by their own words, but the godly escape such trouble. 14. Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards.) I have often wondered why you have to have a trial for criminals that are caught on video doing the crime they committed. They are guilty aren’t they? The same is true for a person who starts their day speaking negative things into their life, they are already expecting gloom and doom. What do you think will turn your day around? Who do you think is going to come by and change things for you? We need to start our day being thankful for this day and believing God for good things today. If our words and actions change, the outcome of our day will also change. If you want to have a good day, raise your expectations to be in line with God’s Word. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
