The most amazing thing about the peace of God is that Jesus has given to every believer a gift of His peace. To know that we possess a peace that can calm troubled water, and heal a broken heart, and uphold an unstable hope, indicates the great love and faithfulness of God.

I. Peace Through the Word of God

Psalm 119:165
165 Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

Colossians 1:20
20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

II. Peace Through Obedience

Hebrews 12:12-15
12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Kings 2:5

III. Peace Through a Trusting Mind

Isaiah 26:3
3 You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.

2 Corinthians 13:11
11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

a future awaits those who seek peace.

IV. Peace Through Justification

Romans 5:1
5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Isaiah 38:17
17 Surely it was for my benefit
that I suffered such anguish.
In your love you kept me
from the pit of destruction;
you have put all my sins
behind your back.
