How many senseless acts would have not been committed if a person would have restrained their emotions? How many hearts would not have been crushed if someone had used a little judgment before saying those harsh words? God wants us to be more patient and use wisdom when conversing with others. God gives each of us the ability to restrain our emotions if we simply follow His instructions. (Proverbs 2:9-11 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair, every good path. 10. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. 11. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.) Emotions rush us forward and tell us to do things right now. Godly wisdom encourages us to slow down, wait until we see the whole picture before we take action.
