AUGUST 24th…WHAT’S YOUR RESPONSE?? How do you respond when you are told no? I watched a child last Sunday morning respond to being told that they could not do what they wanted to do. They sat down, poked out their lips, and would not speak to anyone. You and I respond in different ways when God’s answer to our prayers is no. Some resist the answer and keep going. Some resent the answer and pout. Some relax in the answer and know God knows what is best for them. (Jeremiah 17:7 But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. 8. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.) I have known people who walked away from God because He did not do what they asked him to do. They did not trust God enough to realize God knew what was best for their lives. I can honestly look back over the times I remember my parents telling me no and say that I turned out to be a better man because of it. God loves you too much to give you everything you ask for.
