How many times have we not done things for others because you remember they didn’t help you out when you asked them? The world has taught us to do things expecting something in return. We do something extra on our jobs expecting advancement. We do something for others expecting them to return the favor. We do something for God expecting Him to bless you mightily in return. Although, all of the above things happen periodically, that should not be the reason that we do good deeds. What has happened to doing things because it is the right thing to do? What has happened to having the right motive behind our actions? (Psalm 139:23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.) I urge you to honestly examine your motives today and make sure they’re not self-centered. Make a wholehearted commitment to serve God for the right reasons. Pastor Don
