Unmovable in the Faith

Unmovable in the Faith

Our God can do impossible things. He can do what he says He will do. Growing in Christ calls us to be unmovable in the faith.

Take a Stand

We are in days that it is imperative we take a stand for what is true, pure, and right according to the word of God. We must earnestly contend for the faith. A call to be unmovable in the faith is the call to all Christians.

In Paul’s days, there was a group of people who attempted to undo what he had taught concerning the resurrection of Christ. Paul was dogmatic about the gospel he had and continued to preach. He preached it, they received it, and stood on and were saved by it. Our witness, having heard, received, and called to stand unmovable in the faith, will be called well done.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

The Gospel Carries a Warning

Preaching and sharing Christ’s gospel must carry a warning. We must believe and preach there is a heaven and there is a hell.

The Bible tells us at judgement we will be judged by what is written within it. The work of every preacher, every Christian speaker is to teach wisdom in the knowledge of Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:27-29
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

1 Timothy 4:6
If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.

Jesus is the Truth

The enemy of every falsehood is the truth. The truth stands on it’s own. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. Maturity in Christ is not growing old chronologically. Children will wander to and fro, are easily shaken, and troubled. Relying on God’s word, we must be unmovable in the faith.

Titus 1:9
holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

Ephesians 4:14-16
14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-2
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.
