Look to God

Give your attention to spiritual things. Make the things that God loves the things that we love. Make the things that God hated the things that we hate. His ways are not our ways. We need to pay attention to and watch God. We will be rewarded and blessed for following God.

Joshua 3:3-4a

  • 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.
  • Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before.

Follow God

After the Jews were released from Egypt and passed over the Red Sea on dry land, Joshua sent spies to check the land they were entering. With the report of the spies, Joshua instructed the children of Israel to make themselves ready because the next day the Lord would do great things. Live as though tomorrow God will do great things for you and your family. Without the faith and courage to trust God and walk through the doors He opens, we will continue to walk in the wilderness.

Joshua 3:5

  • 5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.

Worship God

God instructed on several occasions for a memorial to be constructed. We should remember God’s great acts and pass them to our children. These memorials are for worship and to always remember what God has done for us.

Joshua 4:6

  • 6 to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’
