There is a Promise in the Path
Storms will destroy the tangible that you depend on. We believe and trust in the One who has prepared the way and has promise in the path.
Sometimes the way God orchestrates things causes us to scratch our heads. Luke wrote the book of Acts and in chapter 27 told of Paul boarding a cargo ship from Alexandria in Egypt to Rome. He was allowed as a citizen of Rome to request an audience with Caesar. God sent Paul to preach to Rome that He is the king of the world.
While at sea, Paul prayed for guidance about the journey. Paul told the sailors God has warned him about the trip. The trip was bound for certain peril. Despite what the sailors felt confident in, Paul insisted that God was the ultimate authority. They set sail despite what Paul warned. When God has a plan, what was meant for evil will be used for good.
In the midst of a violent storm for 14 days, all hope was lost amongst the sailors. Paul told them although they did not heed his warning, God would save every life but not the ship. God has said He would never leave or forsake us. Our mighty God will take care of us through it all. We can finish our course with joy in the knowledge God is always with us.
Paul encouraged the others on the ship to be encouraged. God had promised to carry out His plan. The ship was not where their trust could be held. Storms will destroy the tangible that you depend on. Your confidence cannot be put in what is in this world. We believe and trust in the One who has prepared the way and has promise in the path.
The storms will require sustenance and strength. The Spirit and the word of God will provide the sustenance and strength you will need to travel the path of promise God has for you. Pastors and we as church family have the responsibility to present God’s word to provide sustenance and strength to those going through their storm. The world needs to see us trusting and enduring through storms. The world will want to know our God.
