You hear a lot of people say, I just tell it like it is. They use this opportunity to criticize and put down people and other things. They can be fairly negative in their speech because there are a lot of things to be negative about in our world. However, there is another approach that we are encouraged to to approach everyday life. Instead of telling it like it is, try telling it like God wants it to be. Tell it like you believe God has the ability to change your situation. (Romans 4:21 Being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.) Your words have enormous power. If you are going to live by faith, you have to change the way you talk. You have to announce it in order to experience it. Speaking as if you are going to receive what you ask for in faith appears totally foolish, arrogant, and out of touch with reality for most people. God is still able to do what he says he will do. Tell it like God wants it to be today. Remember—you don’t have to tell it like it is. Tell it like it could be, like it should be, like God wants it to be.
