Strengthen What Remains

It is imperative that the church is authentic- and alive. To stay alive, we have to keep putting the word of God in our life. People get tired and weary and go to sleep, and before they know it, they find themselves out of the will of God.

Forget what is behind us and press toward what is in front of us. When we do this, we have a testimony. Grace is the mercy the Lord Jesus Christ gives to all of us through eternal life.

Be watchful

We need to wake up and strengthen our relationship with God. First, we have to repent. We need to be a doer of the word of God. God is looking for a remnant because he uses what is left.

Revelation 3:1-2
“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.”

This is written to a church because it is possible for an entire church to be asleep.

Take up your cross

We have to take up our cross and follow Jesus. Our cross is our relationship with Jesus and the calling he has for us.

Matthew 16:24
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

Jesus is the only way we can get into Heaven. John 14: 6 says, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.

The church is in danger these last days. We have to be alert and strengthen what remains because the church is in danger of death. We have to do our part and strive for a relationship with God and stand up for Him and His will.
