Release Things of the Past

Release Things of the Past

Let go and release your past and move forward. Learn from your past. It’s importance that we learn the lessons in this season so that we will be prepared to deal with the next season.

We can become so attached to some object, way of doing something, a conviction that it becomes a ritual, an idol. Because God uses something in a season doesn’t mean it will remain a part of our day, year, or life. When a season of stress or duress comes, such as the one we’re in now, people do unusual, irrational things.

Seasons come and go. In every season, learn the lesson that God has for you to learn. What is God trying to say to us in this season? If you trust in systems, man’s ingenuity, people, you will be disappointed.

1 John 2:17
The world will pass away with the lust of the world. But he who does the will of the Lord will abide forever.

God, in His infinite love, will allow you to go through things to force an understanding of His will. The current situation in today’s world is not a surprise to Him.

As with the example of the children of Israel in Egypt and the desert and in this season of pandemic and social strife, is God trying to help us see what is inside us and let go of some things that have held us captive? Is it possible that we have been used and abused, lost our identity, lost sight of our purpose, forgotten the promises, strayed from the mandate, developed a form, and denied the power? Is it possible that God has allowed everything to shut down so that the church can one more time, before He comes back, experience the revival God wants to give?

Psalm 119:67
Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

Psalm 119:71
It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

Psalm 119:107
I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O Lord, according unto thy word.

What God puts in our life is just as important as what He takes out.
