There isn’t much that we don’t expect from our mothers. We are certain they should be able to fix whatever is wrong at the moment. My mother has been with the Lord for many years now, but I remember her being our go-to person for love, understanding, defense, and support. Mothers are our self-esteem builders and our “you can do it” motivators. My mother knew how to correct 4 boys and make it a memorable correction. After she whipped us, YES, I mean stripped our legs with a hickory or a belt, she made us apologize to each other, hug each other and tell the other person that we loved them. She believed in making us do what the Bible said to do. (1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.) When a mother puts love behind her discipline, her discipline has life changing effects. I love a familiar Mother’s Day poem…. M is for the many things she gave me O means only that she’s getting older T is for the tears she shed to save me H is for her heart of purest gold E is for her eyes with love light shining R means right, and right she will always be. God created families and gave mothers a unique place in that unit. My mother was a generational curse breaker. She was the first to step up and give her life to Christ. She was responsible for many others finding Christ as their Savior. She was Super Woman to our family. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS!! You are loved and appreciated more than words can ever express. God made you special and gave you a purpose no one else can fulfill in our lives. Thank you for all you do. We love you. Pastor Don
