I love to play golf in my free time. Every year when the new equipment is developed, it is advertised to be longer and straighter. The only problem that comes with longer is the necessity to be straighter. If it does not go straight, then all your distance is wasted. The same is true with your prayers. Longer is not always stronger. God wants us to pray humble, authentic prayers instead of a long-winded sermon in prayer that has not subject matter. (Matthew 6:5-8 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask.) You don’t have to convince God of what you need. He already knows! Just come to him as simply, honestly, and humbly as you can, and talk about what you need.
