IT IS SHAKEUP TIME!!

I read how an eagle prepares her young to fly and I thought how often God does his children the same way. The first 3 months of a young eagles life is spent in the nest, being cared for, protected, and fed. Then at about 12 weeks the mother eagle begins to remove all the comfort from the nest leaving only sticks and thorns to make it uncomfortable. Then she nudges them out of the nest to learn to do something they have created to do but have never tried and that is fly. Over and over she nudges them out of their comfort zone to go tumbling through the air, then swooshes down and scoops them up before they hit the ground. Soon the young eagle learns to spread its wings and soar just like the mother eagle. (Deuteronomy 32:11 Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft.) God wants us to understand the uncomfortable places we go through in life. Many of the mountains we have to climb in life is just God trying to teach us to learn to soar higher. We are much like the baby eagles. We would stay in our comfortable place all of our lives if not for the nudging. Can you imagine a beautiful full grown eagle that had never learned to fly? The mother eagle had allowed it to stay in the nest, in it’s comfort zone, until the eagle was full grown and couldn’t fly. God loves you and I too much to not help us become all we have potential to be. Even if it takes having to nudge us overboard sometimes. Don’t worry, He hasn’t missed one yet. God always catches His children and lifts them back to new heights to soar again. Pastor Don
