God is the eternally perfect uncreated Creator Who is sustainer and ruler of all things. He is one God eternally existing, co-equally in three persons, namely the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is one in essence, while remaining distinct in personality. God is spirit and person.

At the core of His existence, He is an immaterial Being. John 4:23 says God is a spirit. He is not a physical being at His core. He became a man, but in His eternal state he is spirit. That is why we must be able to relate to Him spiritually.

Psalm14:1 says the fool has said in his heart, there is no God. There can’t be a creation without a creator. Humans were made in the image and likeness of God. Psalms 119 tells us the heavens declare the glory of God.

God is not limited by time and space. He is everywhere all the time. There has never been a time God did not exist. “From everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God.” There has never been a n eternity When God did not exist. God has no beginning or ending. Genesis 1:1 says In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Maker of all things, He is greater than all of His creation, and He exists in personhood.

God’s nature is love, peace, joy, and fellowship. So He built Himself a second home. It was the tabernacle that the children of Israel built in the dessert. He wanted the home to be permanent, so He built a temple. David started it and his son Samuel finished it. Then He wanted it to be personal, so He became a man and dwelt among us as Jesus Christ. Then He wanted it to be intimate, so now His home is in us.

1 Corinthians 6:19
Know ye not that you are the temple of the living God.
