Kings and kingdoms is spoken of in the Bible. Kings are the head of their kingdoms. God has headship of all that is. He is the creator and set about order of all the universe. Christ is the head of the church. Headship is put into place to maintain order and accomplish His plan.

In the garden, the serpent tempted Eve to take the fruit. He tempted her with lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. This same spirit of evil tempted Jesus in the same three areas.

Genesis 3:6

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Matthew 4:4-10

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him,  “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’

The first question Satan asked in creation was to cause Eve to doubt God. The first question God asked in creation was to draw His creation and His children to Him. Adam sinned and God set forth consequences but He is continually drawing us to Him. God sent a second Adam to redeem the sin and provide a way to never die and spend eternity with Him. Jesus is the second Adam.

We continue to live with the nature inherited from Adam. We continue to look for ways to manage things apart from God. God will not be defeated in His plan. He will continue to provide a way for us to return to Him in order to spend eternity with Him.

Romans 5:12

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned

God through Jesus Christ removed the penalty of death for sin. God’s grace is greater than all the sin in the world. The verdict was guilty but God’s free gift is “Not Guilty”. The slate is wiped cleaned and all sin.

Colossians 2:13-14

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
