I recently attended a memorial service for a person where the minister said this individual had never said anything bad about anyone. They always saw the good in others. That person had one of the greatest testimonies you and I could ever have. It is so easy to get caught up in the trap of judging and giving opinions of what others are doing or not doing. It’s far easier to find things people are doing wrong than to look for the things they are doing right. It’s a trap of Satan we need to avoid. (1 Samuel 12:24 But be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.) To enjoy peace with God, we need to keep our eyes on God. When we focus our attention on God, we begin to look through the lens of the Spirit instead of the eyes of flesh. The spiritual lens help us to see the good in others instead of only seeing their wrong. We need to focus on the good things God has done for us, then , we wouldn’t be so quick to want to bring others down. The one thing that you would never stand for is someone running down your children. What if God feels the same about His children? Be an encourager! See the good in others. Pastor Don
