People can be so cruel. In the negative society we live in, putting others down seems to be one of the favorite forms of humor for some. People are constantly degrading, demeaning, criticizing, and maligning others. The world needs you and I do be different. If you want to give the gift that stands head and shoulders above anything else you can give this Christmas, be an encourager. (1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.) This Christmas, you can be an encourager by taking time to listen to other people. It doesn’t cost you anything to stop and talk with someone who needs an ear to listen and it may be the best gift that individual receives this holiday. You can encourage others by sharing kind words. Thank you, good job, and I appreciate you will lift other’s spirits quickly and it doesn’t take a great deal of effort. You can encourage others by praying for them. Let them know that you are remembering them in your prayers and that God knows what they are going through. Being an encourager doesn’t take a lot of time, energy, or money. Being an encourager means you have the Gift of Christmas living in your heart and you want to share that Gift with everyone you meet.
