DEFEATING YOUR GIANTS!!

I love the story of David and Goliath. David was ready to fight, but he had to fight his own giants before he could fight Goliath. I know that I have fought some of these same giants in my life while attempting to accomplish what I know I was called to do. I pray this is a day of giant killing for you as you pursue your calling and purpose in God. (1 Samuel 17:46-47 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.) There are four giants that we all have to conquer before we can gain the victory over the true giant in our lives. DELAY. Our purpose does not happen in a day, a week, a month, or a year. We must maintain our purpose when things are not going as quickly as we planned. DISCOURAGEMENT. The spirit of fear is sent by Satan to see all the opposition to your purpose. Many will be there to tell you the great obstacles you face in overcoming your giant. DISAPPROVAL. Even David’s closest family didn’t like what he was doing. They did not like his bravery in the midst of their cowardness. You will never receive the approval of everyone, sometimes you have to go on by yourself. DOUBT. People will doubt your abilities to be successful. King Saul was an expert on war, and he thought David was crazy for wanting to fight the giant. The truth is that once you’ve defeated these FOUR GIANTS, the battle is already won. All that is left to do is show the world that the God we serve will always cause us to triumph when we follow the purpose He has called us to do. Pastor Don
