CHECK YOUR MOTIVES!!

How many of us have been told by a physician that we were over weight? No one but you can hear your answer. Why do you think they tell us what we are already aware of? Is it because they want to hurt our feelings, point out our flaws, or make us feel bad about ourselves? No, the physician tells us the truth about where we are because they know the health issues that being over weight can cause. Wait a minute…A doctor who knows that being healthy would cause you to spend less time and money in his office is telling you to live healthier!! If a doctor cares that much about your life and health, how much more does God care about us? (Galatians 6:1-2 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.) The hardest thing to do is to tell someone the truth and tell them in a loving, concerned, and non-profitable for us way. Christ instructs us to reach out to others because it is their best interest to turn their life around. Too often, the only reason we reach out to people who have done wrong and fallen away is for our good, growth of the church, or to get a notch in our handle. We need to do like our doctor does, share the truth with only the regard of the patient in mind. When we learn to reach out this way, the Kingdom will be added to, and the growth will remain.
