I was born in the rural part of St. Clair County in Alabama. I started to school in 1960 at Iola Roberts Elementary School in Pell City. Every morning before our class started we read the Bible, prayed a pray, and Pledged Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. We prayed for and respected our leaders, as well as our parents. If you know my testimony, we started going to church that same year at a country church near Ragland, AL. God soon became the center of our home. My mom taught us to read the Bible, share Bible stories, and pray. God has been a big part of my life since those times. We are not ashamed of our upbringing nor of our God. God alone is the reason America is the greatest nations in this world. We need to remember the words of my devotion verse this morning. (Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.) America has strayed from being one nation under God. We have so many that no longer respect, reverence, or serve God as their Savior. My prayer is that there will be a revival sweep our land and people will again see just how blessed America is because God is our Lord. Happy 4th of July to you and to your family.
