The Bible says that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Our thoughts determine whether we sink below our troubles or elevate ourselves above them. If we allow our minds to linger and ponder over the wrong thoughts long enough, the thoughts will turn into words and we will speak them over ourselves or over others. My scripture reading this morning talks about having good thoughts and speaking kind words. If our hearts, (OR MINDS) is wise it teaches our mouths. If our words are kind and uplifting, they encourage others and us as well. (Proverbs 16:23-24 The hearts of the wise make their mouth prudent, and their lips promote instruction. 24. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.) A parent’s words to a child may stick with that child all their life. The thoughts that a child thinks about itself may be determined by the words you speak to it. Everyone needs to hear pleasant, uplifting, life building words. It’s easy to assume other people don’t struggle with the same battles you fight, but I assure you we all live in the same world. We all need to hear kind words that help us through our days. We can help each other while helping ourselves by having kind thoughts and speaking kind words. We diffuse the devils fireworks when we build one another up with our thoughts and words.
