It’s winter time in Alabama and you will often hear someone say to the driver of the vehicle, “Start the car.” We want the car to warm as soon as possible to do away with the cold. My Bible reading this morning talked about you and I holding the key to doing away with the “cold” in our lives. We hold the key to destroying the strongholds in our lives. (1 Samuel 17:45-46 David said to the Philistine, You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you defied. 46. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.) You need to know that you hold the key to destroying the chains that keep you from becoming all God wants you to become. The key is to remember how God has helped you in the past. Use the tools God has given you today to defeat your enemy. Stop listening to the people who don’t want you to change. Expect God to give you direction and strength to win your battle when you step out. The key to total freedom is to put your trust in the ability God has and stop relying on your own abilities. You and I alone will fail, but you and I with God never fails. You hold the key to your life today. Turn the switch. Pastor Don
