USE GOOD JUDGMENT!!

I read a word this morning that you don’t hear much in your daily conversation nor is it practiced often enough in our daily living. That word is “Prudence.” It means being a good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. The gifts God has blessed us with today requires prudence in order to be used effectively. Gifts such as our time, energy, strength, good health, abilities and even our material possessions are included. Prudence requires us to be good stewards of our body, soul, and spirit. (Proverbs 8:12 I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.) God has equipped each of us with different abilities according to how He wants us to use them. Being prudent means we show wisdom, good judgment, common sense, sense, shrewdness, and advisability in using the gifts God allows us to possess. Each of us would be wise to know how much we are able to handle, to be able to recognize when we are reaching “full capacity” or “overload.” Instead of pushing ourselves into overload to please others, satisfy our own desires, or reach our personal goals, we can learn to listen to the Lord and obey Him. If we follow the Lord’s leading, we will enjoy blessed lives. Pastor Don
