To most of us, the only time we think about a battery is when it doesn’t work. The newest technical equipment shows us the amount of battery power left. How many times has your cell phone or technical device given you the low battery warning? It is time to recharge. Most of us will go out this morning and start an automobile to go to a work destination. The motor will start because the last time you drove the vehicle the battery was recharged while the motor was running by the alternator. Our bodies are like the battery in your car, we need to be recharged on a regular basis. It is important that we energize ourselves daily to be at our best on the job, at home, or at church. (1 Corinthians 12:6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.) To energize means, ” to give strength or force to; to give active vigor to.” It is God who is at work energizing us as we go about our daily activities. Everything we will do today will pull energy from our bodies. Our thought process drains us of our energy. Physical labor pulls from our energy source. Sickness will drain us faster than we realize. We need the re-energizing strength that only God can supply to make it through the day. Take time this morning to top off your tank by reading your Bible, praying, and meditating on God for a few minutes. You will feel so much stronger as you go through your day.
