The Gifts of Easter
After Jesus was buried in the tomb, the soldiers probably thought it was over. On the cross, Jesus said “it is finished” – Not “I am finished”. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins. Through his death and resurrection, we were given special gifts.
The Gifts of Easter
1. Forgiveness of our sins-
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
2. Faith that will stand trial
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
3. Peace
The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus
4. Hope of eternal life
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”
He was bruised for our iniquities and wounded for our transgressions. The chastisement of our peace was upon him. Jesus died for our sins so that we may have eternal life with Him. He never leaves nor forsakes us, and he wants to have a relationship with us.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:17
And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!
