You don’t buy clothes unless you know they fit. Why would you try to do something for God that does not fit your gifting? I have a lot of people ask me how you know what God’s will is for your life. Many are waiting to hear God speak from heaven and direct their lives. God has spoken to man in many various ways as you read through the Bible. God speaks directly, through others, through animals, through hard times, and through nature. However, many times God uses a much more practical way than that. When I first started serving God, I tried just about everything people asked me to be involved in. It was only when I began to share God’s word with others that I came alive. I felt that peace and reassurance from God that teaching and preaching was my gift. (Proverbs 16:9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.) Sometimes the only way to discover God’s will is to practice what I call “stepping out and finding out.” If you have prayed about a situation and don’t seem to know what you should do, take a step of faith.
