The main reason Satan continues to try to distract you, keep you out of church, disrupts your time of devotion with God, and puts so many irons in your fire that you can’t find time to attend Bible study, is he knows what a powerful weapon the Word of God is against him. If we continue in the Word, it assures Satan’s defeat in our life. That is why it is imperative that we hear, read, believe, meditate on, and confess the Word daily to defeat Satan’s plan to steal it away from us. (Mark 4:14-15 The farmer sows the word. 15. Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.) I assure you that if you hear or read the Word, Satan will do everything in his power to cause us to forget what we have read or heard. It could be as simple as having a child who doesn’t want to get up this morning that causes you to forget what you have read. It could be a problem on your job, an argument with your companion, a traffic jam that causes you to run late, or an illness you didn’t expect this morning. When you realize that these are Satan’s attempt to steal what God has placed in your heart for today, then, you can use the Word as your defense against Satan’s tactics. You will begin to see right through your issues and see God’s hand directing your life. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. It’s our best defense. It’s our best offense.
