God knows where you are. He knows the condition of your heart. God created man and woman, but they were not perfect. Our ancestors made many bad choices and committed many sins. Anointed people can be bad family members, bad managers, bad friends. Anointed people can create obstacles for themselves. Obstacles do not exist in God’s plans.

Buried, Written Off

Joseph was one such person. Joseph was the light of his father and the envy of his brothers. He boasted to his brothers that he was his father favorite son. Jacob had given Joseph a coat of many colors to be envied. Joseph’s brothers took him with the intent to murder him. They wanted to be rid of him and his boasting. Joseph’s oldest brother suggested selling him as a slave and telling Jacob he was killed by animals.

Lied on, Forgotten

Joseph was bought by Potiphar and became trusted in his house. He had to run from Potiphar’s house to save his character and not sin against God. He was thrown in prison based on lies of Potiphar’s wife. Joseph met servants of Pharaoh in prison. These servants didn’t keep their promise to remember him when they were released.

Joseph was called on to interpret a dream of Pharaoh. Pharaoh trusted Joseph and set him over his house. Joseph saved the nation from starving during a seven year famine. This famine brought Joseph’s brothers to Egypt. Egypt has storehouses of food to provide during the famine. Joseph’s brothers did not realize he was the keeper of the storehouses of Egypt. These brothers were now bowing to Joseph for security just as Joseph had dreamed.

Joseph wept at the sight of his brothers. He celebrated the reunion of his family. Joseph was buried, written off, lied on, and forgotten. When given the chance Joseph did not repay their evil. He didn’t focus on the cruelty of his life. Joseph showed forgiveness and mercy.

When God has a plan for your life, He’ll get you through a lot of obstacles to use you for His purpose. Obstacles do not exist in God’s plans.
