My devotion this morning talked about the promise God made to Abraham and Sarah concerning a son. Abraham was now 100 and Sarah was 90, yet Abraham refused to look at the natural. He chose to keep claiming the promise God had made him. Abraham had no natural reason to hope. In fact, if there were ever a situation with no hope, it was for them to have a child at their ages. BUT GOD!! Abraham’s faith was so remarkable that Paul recorded it hundreds of years later when he wrote Romans. (Romans 4:19-20 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead, since he was about a hundred years old, and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God.) What a great example to you and I. The more we praise God for the promises He has made us, the more the promises come alive in our hearts and our faith in God’s ability to fulfill them grows. God NEVER responds to complaining, but He does respond to praise and an attitude of gratitude. If you are believing God for something, keep the faith, pray daily, and give praise to God.
