MAKE TODAY COUNT!!

One of my favorite questions to ask people when I meet them is “How is it going?” The answers I receive vary from it is going well, to you don’t want to know. A lot of people are not happy unless every day they live is like Christmas, birthday celebration, or a holiday from work. The fact is that most of a person’s days are just ordinary days. They consist of work, food, fellowship, and rest. The only way life has anything special each day is for you to do something to make it special. (Ecclesiastes 5:18 This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them-for this is their lot.) Life can easily just exist and each day can be so mundane. Living your life in that kind of a rut can lead to self-pity, discouragement, anger, resentment, and isolation. You should take time each day to do something to celebrate the day. The Bible says that today is a day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. We need to do something each day to celebrate our day and the life God gave us. When you start to feel down, just take the time to do something “up” that lifts your mood and helps you feel better about life in general. Take time to go for a walk, talk with an old friend, go to lunch at your special place, just do something special. No day needs to be ordinary if we realize the gift God is giving us when He gives us another day. Pastor Don
