IDLE MINDS?? TAKE CONTROL!!
One of my mother’s favorite saying was, “An idle mind is the devil’s playhouse.” She wanted us to have something to do so our minds didn’t wander onto things we didn’t need to be doing. I’ve learned through my walk with God that I have the ability to take control of what I think and how I let it affect my life. My Bible reading this morning talked about having the peace of God in your life and how it helps us with taking control of our thoughts. (Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.) How often have you faced something with an uncertain outcome and remained calm because God gave you peace? The peace of God allows us to recapture our thoughts even when they have been out of control. We can change from thinking the worst, to dwelling on the good things in our lives because of the peace of God. Worry is completely useless. Worry wears you out mentally, emotionally and physically, and doesn’t change your situation at all. One simple prayer during those thoughts can release your problems to God and allow you to think about the good things in life you enjoy. Life is difficult at best. We all have our trials. We all have those days when we feel like we are going to crumble under our loads. God wants to help us overcome those times and give you the peace of mind you need. Your mind is your playground. Take control over it with the power God has given you. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
