Peter gave 8 speeches in the book of Acts. Seven were given to a Jewish audience. Only one was given to a gentile audience. The message was given to him in a vision from God. In the vision, Peter tried to question what God was saying in the same breath he was calling Him Lord. God sent Peter to a gentile’s home to preach God’s love for all. The Holy Spirit fell on everyone in that meeting.

God did not send His son to this world to establish ritual. He knocks on the door of our heart inviting us to participate in worshipping Him. Rejoicing should take place at all time and be in our mouth at all times.

1 Peter 1:1-4
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

Chosen

We are strangers in this world and citizens of a heavenly kingdom. We are sons and daughters of God chosen by God and saved by the shedding of blood by Jesus Christ who came as God’s son. This blood can wash sin from all who believe in the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Called

It doesn’t end there. God has called us to follow His commands and be light to all who see and watch us. We have a living hope to share. Our living hope in Jesus is that we have much more that anything we could ever accomplish in this life waiting for us. We have a brand new existence waiting for us on the day Jesus returns.

Cleansed

This hope is an anchor for our soul to bare against anything this life can bring through the strength Jesus gives in praising Him evermore. Our anchor of hope holds us from all in this world that draws us away and lies to us.

Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
