Today’s news is full of tales of war and impending war. We are directed to lift our eyes to heaven and put our trust and faith in God. Faithful people must continue through the difficulties and name the name of Christ. American does not experience the trials of Christians in other countries. There are Christians today being persecuted for preaching and speaking out and calling sin, sin. Jesus told us these things will happen and that we must not be troubled. He promises these times will not last forever. He promised that He had overcome the world and tribulations. We know that we can stand before God in the hour of our death with a feeling of peace and security.

Matthew 24:6-7

  • 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
  • For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

Moses

Moses represents the law and the path for reconciliation with God through Jesus. Christ fulfilled the law and God’s peace brings reconciliation and relationship.

Elijah

Elijah represents that we can take a stand in the battle and God will take a stand with us. He boldly taunted and proved the power of God over the idols and false gods of his tormenters. God wants us to be bold and confidently cry, “I believe God”.

When we allow the light of Jesus to drown out the darkness we will experience His peace. Peace is not a thing. Peace is a person. Jesus can speak peace when all hope is lost.
