I have been asked many times in the past few days what I wanted for Christmas. I am one who always looks to give to others, but I never ask for one specific thing for myself. We all are searching for the perfect gift to give special people in your life for Christmas. Some of those are not easy to find. Have you thought the perfect gift to give yourself this year? My Bible reading this morning talked about a gift that would allow you to have the best Christmas ever this year. It is the gift of forgiving people who have hurt, disappointed, and done things spiteful toward you. (Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.) One person said that holding unforgiveness in our heart is like drinking poison and hoping the other person will die. Holding resentment, unforgiveness, bitterness, or desire for revenge toward other people only harms you. It causes you to not be able to hear God speaking to us. The Bible says if we want God to forgive us, then we must forgive others. Do yourself a favor, forgive those who have hurt you. Give yourself the gift of forgiveness. It will bring the Peace of Christmas into your life. It will be the best gift you receive this year. Forgive others! Pastor Don
