GETTING GOD’S ATTENTION!!

We live in a world where people believe they deserve to receive gifts, be catered to, and are always looking for a handout. Being appreciative for we are given is not often found in our present society. I love to hear people say “thank you” when they have been given something or someone does something good for them. I love to hear my children and grandchildren say “thank you” when they receive a gift, compliment, or service from someone. I believe an appreciative heart is something that God loves also. Giving thanks is an important part of our daily prayers because, like praise and worship, it is something God responds to. (Psalm 26:7 Proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds.) God loves to hear us being thankful for our daily blessings. It warms the heart of God and brings us closer to Him and that makes for a better prayer life and walk with God. Being thankful for what we have been given positions us in a place to receive more from God. Why should God give us something else to grumble or complain about? But…when God sees that we are genuinely grateful for life, breath, health, homes, family, friends, jobs, and life itself, it opens the windows of heaven for God to pour us more blessings. Try being thankful for what you have today. It will get God’s attention! Pastor Don
