Too many allow the people around them to determine their values and influence their behavior patterns. When we allow this to happen, we find that everyone expects something different from us. Most people expect us to do the things that keep them happy. It’s hard to admit, but this happens in the life of believers as well as unbelievers. We need to follow the example set for us by Jesus. He was the same with everyone he met. (Luke 6:40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.) This verse of scripture is sandwiched between the blind leading the blind and finding a speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and ignoring the beam in your own eye. It’s important that we don’t allow others the control panel of our lives. God alone should have access to that. Jesus was not changed by people, he changed people. I encourage you to be your own person. Do what God expects of you and don’t allow others to control you or determine your worth. You are a child of God. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
