DON’T SETTLE FOR OK!! WANT MORE!!

I have been watching a new commercial about being “OK.” The commercial stresses the point that just being “OK” in many areas is not acceptable to us. We don’t want an OK doctor. We don’t want to eat at an OK restaurant. We want those who serve us to be professional in their fields. I wonder why so many are willing to settle for an “OK” walk with God? Their desire for excellence has been met with an attitude of settling for mediocre. The term “mediocre” means, of ordinary quality, not very good. My Bible reading this morning encourages all of us not to settle for mediocre. (Titus 3:8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.) God expects us to be, in serving him, what we expect others to be toward us. No one plans on being mediocre, we all plan on being successful in every area of our lives. It is a common practice in our lives to be mediocre in areas that require time and discipline to be successful. Weight loss is one of my “biggies.” I can lose weight and lose it fast when I set my mind to it and stay disciplined. I would call my efforts mediocre because of my lack of discipline on a daily basis. However, I will not accept the same discipline in my devotional life and my walk with God. I must be up to speed daily so I can handle what life throws at me, as well as help others through what life is throwing them. Don’t settle for the middle of the pack in your spiritual life. Be all you can be for God. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
