CIRCUMSTANCES!! EXAMINE THEM CLOSELY!!
Just because you CAN doesn’t mean that you SHOULD. Looking at your temporary circumstances and making lasting decisions based on what you see can be disastrous for you. Your emotions and personal desires can cause you to make decisions based on what you see in front of you. So many people have faced devastating situations just because they acted on their current circumstances. In fact, the Bible is filled with people who looked at promising circumstances that soon led to their downfall. Jonah decided to go to Tarshish instead of Nineveh as God had instructed him. There was a boat going to Tarshish, he had the money to purchase the ticket, there was room for him on the boat, so Jonah gets on the boat. Jonah could have easily thought, it must be God’s will for me to go to Tarshish because everything worked in my favor. You know how that turned out. You can’t trust your circumstances alone to make decisions for your life. It MUST be God’s will for your life. (Psalm 40:8 I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.) Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should. How many have purchased homes, cars, land, and taken vacations, by making decisions on current circumstances just to have job situations change and lose everything. Your current circumstances can lead you the wrong way. You can misinterpret them, put unwarranted trust in them, and Satan can even manipulate your current situation. May certain you always check God’s Word against your current situation. Seek God’s will for your life first. When you feel that peace that only comes from God, you will know what decision to make.
