Believe
Believe that when you put God in the middle of all your circumstances victory is yours. Give God the honor, depend on God, and obey God.
Joshua 6:1-5
Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. 2 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
It has been said life is a battle ground. There are battles in all areas of our life. Some we are thrust into and some we choose. There will be battles in the midst of spiritual growth. The enemy wants to interfere and halt spiritual growth. There are battles in our finances, marriages, relationships. Most of our battles are fought in our minds with negative thinking.
We must learn how to overcome negative thinking. God wants us to win all the time. To overcome defeating thinking we must believe God wants us to win. We do not fight our battles alone under our own strength.
We have resources and weapons available to us to move in and live in victory. We can believe in God for great and mighty things. The word of God, the name of Jesus, the power of agreement, the Holy Spirit are weapons.
Praise and worship are weapons. Praise, not just for what He has done but for Who He is. With the word in our spirit we have weapons against the enemy. With the weapon of the name of Jesus, we have a power that is not of this earth. In the blood of Jesus, we have a power that breaks strongholds. Agreement with believers will bring a turnaround.
1 John 5:3-4
3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
2 Corinthians 10:3-4
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
Battles are fought with faith, obedience, and trust in God. If we are going to overcome defeating thinking we must:
Stop seeing ourselves as victims.
If we aren’t careful, we let our circumstances overcome us rather than seeing ourselves as victors. God has said we can’t do it. His word says it and it cannot be negated. We can lose our faith when we look at our circumstances.
Discern the influences in our life.
Our spiritual life is tied up in who we associate with. We can allow the world to influence our life or we can allow the word to influence our life. We must put our focus on Him. He is still holy, the king of kings, the redeemer, our soon coming king.
Refuse to be intimidated by the obstacles.
We belong to God. The more we walk with God the less intimidating the obstacles will be.
Speak words of victory.
Turn negative reports to positive reports. Shouting the praise will silence the worry. Anybody can shout after the answers come. It takes faith to shout before the victory comes.
The throne is not empty. God is still on the throne. If you find yourself in the same outcome over and over, try changing your outlook to an “uplook”. Keep God in the middle of all your storms and battles. Believe that when you put God in the middle of all your circumstances victory is yours. Give God the honor, depend on God, and obey God.
