Everyone seems to be in a hurry. We want what we want and we want it now. Young people want now what their parents worked 20 years to achieve. Workers want the same pay and benefits that people who have worked 30 years receive. The world has a lot to learn about being patient. You have to learn to be patient with God and with yourself. God’s timetable is rarely the same as yours. You’re often in a hurry, but God is never in a rush. Everything happens at a certain time and for a certain purpose in our lives. It can be frustrating when it feels like the progress you’re making is slow. (James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.) God is never in a hurry, but He is always on time. God uses your entire lifetime in developing you into what He wants you to be. Habakkuk experienced a time of waiting. God told him that everything was not going to happen right away, be patient and wait for it. (Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.) When God says it is time, He will supply what you need. Be patient. It is not easy, but wait for it. Be patient with God and with yourself.
