Insecurity has become an epidemic in our society today. People are seeking affirmation from any source they can find. The abuse and rejection they have experienced in their life has them searching for someone or something to relieve the pain. Addiction has become the source many have turned to cover their insecurity. Others spend every waking moment attempting to get someone to accept them at whatever the cost. We must get the message to these people that God accepts them. God accepts them and the pain they are going through. (Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be the servant of Christ.) People do things they don’t want to do, go places they don’t want to go, just to try to get the approval of people. The approval of people will not remove the pain of rejection and abuse. Only the acceptance and approval from God will replace the joy that insecurity has stolen from them. If you are suffering from low self-esteem, pain of rejection or abuse and are looking for affirmation in your life, turn to God. Don’t get caught in Satan’s trap of not measuring up, not being good enough, or not doing enough for God to love and accept you. God loves you and will receive you just like you are this morning.
