Most of us only do the things that are easy and that we are comfortable doing. We avoid taking on the more difficult things because we are not willing to put forth the effort or we are uncomfortable with our ability to accomplish the task. We often cheat ourselves out of the blessings God has for us simply by remaining in our comfort zone and doing what we are accustomed to do. My devotion this morning talked about putting forth the effort and stepping up and trying new things. (2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;) The word diligent means to be constant in effort or exerting the energy to accomplish what is undertaken. Consistence is what God is looking for in our lives. It takes effort to get things done. you will never reach your potential if you give up every time the going gets tough.
