Noah was warned of God about the flood. God’s warnings are an act of kindness. God cares enough to warn us of coming troubles. His word warns us about snares and traps. The evil of this world seeks to devour and distract and draw us from our faith. Our adversary’s goal is to destroy. The evil presents an image of a roaring lion to create fear. Jesus is a lion from the line of Judah. Jesus is the true victor.

Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.

Don’t be deceived by lies of the world. The devil works by illusions of safety and success. Jesus warned that we not be drawn by images and lies.

Galatians 1:6-8
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!

When all is deception and lies, the word of God is always a dependable truth. Lies will fail. Truth will always stand on its own.

Matthew 24:35
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

God has warned that there is a day when He will return and take His faithful to heaven with Him. He has provided a way to spend eternity with Him. There is no temptation or disappointment or addiction or sin that can take us from His hand. God has provided a way back to His love and safety and promise of eternal life with Him. God will accept you with a profession of faith in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We crucify our sins in the sacrifice of Jesus.

Matthew 24:36-39
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Noah followed all of God’s instructions having faith in His warning despite the scoffing and unbelief of all those around him. The world around him faded with their sins, but the word of God will stand forever. God has warned that the world will fade in its sins, but we can depend on the word of the Lord and be saved. Pray fervently that we can escape the failing of the world through the promise of God for salvation.

God grieves over our sin and desires for us to return to Him. He will provide a path to Him. He rejoices when we repent and return to faith in Him. God instructed Noah to place a window at the top of the ark so he could keep his eyes on Him. God instructed Noah to build a door in the ark so he could provide a way for any who would believe could enter the ark. God wants us to keep our eyes on Him and remember Jesus is the door to eternal life with Him.
