FIX THE PROBLEM!! FORGET THE BLAME!!

3-8-18 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY…FIX THE PROBLEM!! FORGET THE BLAME!! We have been taught by the culture that we live in to blame someone for what goes wrong in our life. In yesterday’s devotion we talked about admitting our wrongs in rebuilding relationships with others. Today, we want to take the next step and that is to fix what is wrong, don’t try to fix the other person. You can fix the problem without fixing the blame on someone. You are never going to get your point across by being cross with one another, so choose your words wisely. A soft answer is always better than a sarcastic one. (Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.) In restoring relationships, how you say something is as important as what you say. If you are offensive when you speak, you will receive an defensive response. Nagging others never works. You are never persuasive when you are abrasive with your words. For the sake of fellowship, we must refuse to use belittling, condemning, labeling, insulting, condescending, comparing, or sarcastic words. If you want to rebuild relationships, you must use conversation that are helpful, words that build up and provide the atmosphere that is needed to resolve differences. (Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that if may benefit those who listen.) You can’t undo what has been done, so don’t try to fix the blame, fix the problem. Your life will thank you for it. Pastor Don
